It's a Date?

Starshine shrugged "Hmm it is still pretty early want to grab some lunch or something?"

Marais once again shrugged "Sure, I guess... I know a nice place that alot of Beacon students hang out at!" she said happily, walking in the direction of a certain karaoke bar "I think it's this way..."

Meanwhile, Meli was attempting to call Jett...

Starshine nodded "I think I've heard of this place from a friend"

meanwhile Jett picked up his scroll "What's up?"

"Hey Jetty, I wanna go on a date, nothing special, just a nice lunch out." Meli said happily "Y'know, just at the Shooting Star."

"I heard that Meli stalks people on their dates, so... If she knows-slash-thinks we're on a date, then... Be on your guard, okay?..." she said cautiously

Jett thought about if he had anything planned, but as usual his schedule was compleatly open "Yeah why not"

Starshine sighed "She defintly is going to start following us"

Marais sighed "Let's hope she doesn't go crazy on us..."

(Timeskip, the Shooting Star Karaoke Bar)

"This is the place..." Marais said as they came to the building in question, Meli and Jett weren't too far behind them, but still wouldn't be there for a few minutes...

Starshine looked at the bar with no particular impression other than the fact there was probably going to be many puns made at the expense of his name "This place seems... nice I guess"

Marais shrugged "I heard it's nice, this is the first time I've been here, though...." she said, shrugging once again afterwards "I shrug alot, don't I? It's like a sorta tic or something..."

Starshine shrugged right back "Better than me I'm a chronic sigher, though that habit is more the fault of the world around me than it is mine"

Marais shrugged again, not really calling attention to it, before walking into the building "You sing much?" she asked curiously....

Starshine followed after her "Uhh no I've never been much one for singing, makes too much of a commotion and draws too much attention, plus I can't hit high notes worth a damn"

"You don't have to hit high notes to sing well, people like deep voices." she said as they walked over to a random seat and sat down...

Starshine chuckled a little "Then you should hear my brother Jett, his voice is like an Ursa grew vocal cords

Marais smirked "So.... Are you gonna sing or not?..." she asked curiously...

Starshine pretended to ponder for a moment "Hmmm publicly embarrass myself or sit here and enjoy your company... that is a tough choice he said sarcastically

Marais smirked "So that's a no? I'm honestly curious now, c'mon, sing a little!" she insisted...

Starshine shook his head a little "I'm sure the last thing people want to hear is some country bumpkin go up there and fumble around.... I'm sure a cute girl would get a much warmer reception" he said trying to turn the conversation back onto her

Marais shrugged and got up from her seat "Sure, but you gotta do it too." she said confidently, already having a song in mind...

Starshine grabbed her shoulder to stop her "Umm hey I was just joking hehe" he said with a nervous smile

Marais looked at him with a look of confidence, insistence and competitiveness "No one, I repeat, NO. ONE. Challenges me in jest, I will do it anyways, no backing down, now do you take the bet or not? 'Cause I'm goin' up there either way!"

Starshine sighed "I can't help but respect your competitiveness.... Fine I'll sing, but know I'm just going to embarrass myself"

Marais grinned deviously and walked towards the stage, she got up onto the stage and in front of the karaoke machine, she looked through the selection available on the holographic screen and found the song she wanted and selected it before turning towards the crowd "Uh, hey, uh... I'm Marais, nice to meet you all... And... I'll be singing a nice song that's close to my heart called "The Hero (Princess is Waiting)" by The Heartstones, you may say it's kinda nerdy, but that's why I like it"

At the moment she started speaking, Meli and Jett had entered the bar, Meli heard Marais say the name of the song and hoped that Jett wasn't paying attention "At least I know they're here... Why that song?!" she thought in embarrassment...

Starshine groaned at then thought that he was going to have to go up there next "Watch as she turns out to be a good singer he thought to himself spotting Jett and Meli "................She isn't even trying to hide

Meanwhile Jett heard the song choice and smiled a little "Oh? Well this will be interesting, since you don't really let me listen to your songs for some reason"

"Bit of a warning, lots of retro gaming references!" Marais said with a smirk as the music started to play and started to sing her heart out, she sounded gentle, yet powerful...

"Well... Now you'll see why...." Meli said with a blush "Wow... She's way better than me!! Why is she better than me!! SHE MAKES THE SONG SOUND GOOD!!" she thought bitterly as Marais sang...

Starshine sank into his chair filled with dread "Fuck now it's my turn" if there where any there to begin with it would have drained from his face

Meanwhile Jett clapped a little "I Not my thing but that wasn't bad actually"
